Biography
Theresa was born in Saskatchewan in 1976 and spent her childhood
on the prairies.
At the age of twelve she took her first painting
class and knew it was going to be much
more than just a hobby. Growing
up, she was constantly observing and taking note of detail;
light
and shadow, colour shifts and combinations, textures and
more. She would then try to
re-create these details in her paintings.
By the time she was sixteen, Theresa had moved to British Columbia
and started to use
painting as a form of expression. Throughout
her twenties she developed a more abstract style
and has expanded
into mixed media. Her current works often combine acrylics with
oil stick,
pastel, or ink. She prefers not to pre-plan her work—instead
she views each piece as a journey
to
be discovered along the way. She has found this process
to be refreshing and vital to her
development as an artist.
In recent years, Theresa's time has been split between British
Columbia and Alberta.
She continues to show and sell her paintings
throughout both provinces. Theresa has
returned to the beautiful
Okanagan Valley and resides in Kelowna, BC where she produces
new
works
at her in-home studio. |
